Walthamstow ´Broads´

Another pleasant day but with arguably more excitement than of yesterday.

Balancing my optics in one hand, my ear was firmly glued to the radio in the other as England crushed the Aussies in the morning session.  Probably more sport than wildlife during that period, but moments like these are as rare as connecting with a local Pied Flycatcher.

So, concentrating solely on the southern section, there were three Common Sandpiper on East Warwick with another on No.5.  Three Shoveler were new in on East Warwick, two eclipse drake and a female.  A Kingfisher flashed through No.2, a few Common Swift wheeled over the ressies.  A Willow Warbler was present in bushes along the causeway adjacent to No.4.

A brief visit to the Waterworks where at least 30 Common Swift were present over the pitch and putt and a Hobby dashed over in pursuit of a swift meal.

The day certainly belonged to the English Cricket team though.
